early rise at 8 to get our stuff sorted and meet for breakfast...today we planned to go to the mayan ruins and visit the jungle to see some monkeys.

left for the ruins at about 10...luckily they were close by...so we had lots of time to spare...myself,ailise,terry and italian girl lara set off on our way...

the mayan ruins were impressive with the temples and an entire village to explore. their way of living was most interesting...it really was an entire village which spread out all over leading to a longish walk to see everything. They had burial tombs and many many temples to the gods. it was nice to explore their way of living...

in the afternoon we took a guided tour into the jungle to explore the mayan civilisation further aswell as look for some wildlife too....

the mayans had many many temples there.he showed us coco trees, paper trees, water trees and other plants which the mayans used cleverly to their advantage in their hunting and gathering. the best part of the tour was the fact that we saw some monkeys on the way. they were high up in the trees but they made their presence known...

the evening entailed much of the same as the previous night wit a meal and a show...but i was a happy camper cos united won the final..even though i didnt get to see it!boo...ha. our canadian co-traveller and a couple from puerto escondido came to join us for the evening. very enjoyable....
