got up at 8 for a nice breakie of bread and eggs..beats the usual bread and butter though..then our guide collected us for our trip wit 4 others...

today we are gonna do some rappel...

so we drove for about an hour right into the middle of the countryside where we had to climb into the back of another 4x4 and we almost toppled over twice cos the dirt track was so wet and mucky..they have so much rain here...we got off and walked for 10 mins where sarah fell and a cuban woman fell on top of her.she was covered in muck after 2 mins and this time it wasnt even her fault.we got to the cave...where we set up the equipment to absail down the 30 metre wall...got nervous just as we were goin down cos there was no grip on the wall..it was completely soaking but we all managed to get down in 1 piece.

we then went down 100 metres into the cave where he told us a whole load of things about the cave etc...but to be honest i didnt listen to anything he said except for the fact that there were bats there..and we saw some too... lots of stalactites and stalacmites and pillars...our geography teacher would be very proud of us now..we could actually teach leaving cert geography at this stage..jeje it was so mucky so just about everyone fell on the way back up. we then had to get back out of the cave and the only way up was to climb.but luckily it wasnt anything like rock climbing cos there were ppl at the top pulling u up so u only had to climb a little bit and there was a tree there to help..it was good fun..wouldnt say it was very safe but thats half the fun!haha we then took a little trip to see some nice waterfalls but to get there we had to go through fields that left us up to our knees in muck and we found out after that there were snakes and spiders in there..i was quick to take off my runners after that..just to check but all was good..we then went further on to a pass called angels pass but it was quite narrow..one point was only 30cm wide..so we were a bit more cautious and even more so when we heard someone died crossing it..but she was out of it on drugs..so we were good to go... when we got back to where the 4x4 was to pick us up it started lashing..just in time.. we got back to villa de leyva near 5 and spent the evening walking around the village..very pretty indeed..2moro we are leaving for san gil to do some grade 5 white water rafting...
