went to chichi today at 7...extremely tired after my 4 drinks and little sleep...

we visited a market there...it was chaotic..but very exciting...there were mayans everywhere...they had live geese and chickens walkin around the market and would be pushin u along the way..u didnt have a choice to stop...they had so many stalls selling everything from clothes to food..the atmosphere was great though...in the centre of the market was a church with steps...the mayans covered the steps cos this church was the only one in guatemala which had steps and it was very sacred to the mayans..so they didnt want the tourists to enter the church that way...instead we had to enter in the side...this church was so strange cos it was half catholic and half of the mayan religion...the catholic part was the norm but the mayan had the centre of the church and had different blocks of cement where they would go and ask for different things from the gods..there were about 10 blocks in total..some for wealth, others for love, marriage, health....it was really interesting to learn all about them...they have such different beliefs to us....they are so religious too....and very poor....we learned alot from the guide....

we spent about 4 hours in the market..i got some runners for exercise for 15 euro so i was very happy wit my purchase...i can do sport now..wahoo....

we got back from chic chi in the afternoon but hte weather was too bad to do anything so we just took it easy and went to bed at 11. everyone was wrecked...meal wasnt too nice...especially when we saw the cockroach on the table beside us...a sure loss of appetite then.haha...
