Avayas acquisition of Nortels enterprise solutions business is pushing
several of Nortels executives based in India to move out.
who has been the companys global head for communications enabled
business solutions since March 2008, is moving to Juniper Networks as
Dhananjay Ganjoo, vice president for enterprise
networks in Nortel Asia, moved last week to Microsoft India as its head
for the telecom vertical . Both Chauhan and Ganjoo are based in
Bangalore and will continue to do so. Chauhan, who has held multiple
positions in Nortel including that of MD of its Indian operations
during 2006 and 2007, steps into a position that was vacated a few days
ago by Nagendra Venkaswamy.
Venkaswamy, who was in networking and
security solutions company Juniper for several years and prior to that
in PSI Data Systems, has joined Tejas Networks, a Bangalore-based
telecom infrastructure company founded in 2000.
Avaya acquired the
Nortel enterprise unit for $900 million last month. Sources in Nortel
say senior executives in the company are uncertain about their
positions under the new dispensation and hence are looking for
alternatives. The telecom vertical in Microsoft that Ganjoo is joining
is said to be a new one in India for the software giant. But this could
not be confirmed.
